     I am glad you found me! I have been on a creative journey most of my life. I always dabbled in acrylics and I took community classes for several years learning watercolors. When I discovered oils my focused changed. I have tried several styles of oil painting but always return to a style that employs techniques of the Old Masters. It is a methodical approach which requires several layers of paint from a toned ground, an underpainting called grisaille (pronounced "griz eye"), to multiple layers of glazes. Lastly, a layer of varnish is brushed over the entire surface of the painting. Gloss varnish is my preferred finish. It makes the painting come alive and glow – as though it had just come off easel and the paint is still fresh and wet.

     Painting is my place of solace and my place of joy. My studio is a sanctuary where ideas flow and music fills the air. Each painting has a piece of my heart, my soul, and my life imparted into it.
